At the foot of Mount Mirnock, Fresach is known as the home of Olympic and world champion alpine skier Franz Klammer. There are cross-country ski trails from the village as well as beautiful hiking trails, including the Crayfish Trail , where you can observe - but not disturb or fish for - the yellow-legged crayfish, which have become rare and protected in Europe. Several hotels and guesthouses, set up in restored old houses, offer a pleasant stay in the rural surroundings of the village, both in summer and winter. There are also tables d'hôte.
