Ideally situated on a wind-sheltered plateau, just an hour's drive from Innsbruck, the community of Arzl is best known for its Benni-Raich suspension bridge, which spans the magnificent Arzler Pitzeklamm gorge at a height of 94 m. This is the highest pedestrian bridge of its kind in Europe. It is the highest pedestrian bridge of its type in Europe. It was named in honor of Arzl-born Benjamin Raich, a two-time world and Olympic champion alpine skier. The bridge connects Arzl with the village of Wald and is used by hikers in summer. A few brave souls can also be seen bungee jumping from the bridge - for thrill-seekers!
