The main attraction of Ottobeuren is its Benediktinerabtei, its Benedictine abbey, located approximately ten kilometres south of Memmingen. There is no need for further indication once there: the eyes are immediately drawn to the huge building that dominates the entire region. The abbey was founded in 764 and, today, it hosts 24 monks who live there year round and bring a little life to this fabulous place.
