Ehrwald is a high altitude resort in the Ausserfern region at the foot of the Zugspitze, the highest peak in the German Alps (2,962 m), in the upper Loisach valley. Just a stone's throw from the German border (Bavaria). With its picturesque location in the high alpine valley, it is an ideal base for hiking in the Wettersteingebirge, or even climbing the Zugspitze, either sporty or with the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn funicular that goes directly to the top! Ehrwald is also the base for the Zugspitz Arena.
