A medieval village that has attracted many artists, such as the poet Giosuè Carducci, who describes the wonderful road lined with century-old cypresses that harmoniously follows the lines of the relief leading to Bolgheri. Until the 1970s, the exploitation of fruit trees was the only vocation of this area, but it experienced a new boom with the creation of the Sassicaia vineyards by the Marquis Incisa della Rocchetta. Initially producing simple table wines, these vineyards have become some of the most prized in the world! A visit to the cellars and the tasting of its wines is a must, as is a visit to this irresistibly charming town.
