162 inhabitants. At the northern borders of the county of Bages, the small village of Gaià is located at the foot of a hill at an altitude of more than 481 metres, topped by the Chapel of Saint Agathe and the ruins of its castle built in the 10th century. It marks the border with the county of Berguedà. Surrounded by mountains and pine forests, the village is drained by the Llobregat River and its tributaries, including a river that bears its name: the Gaià River. In the square, the church of Santa Maria de Gaià, a mixture of Baroque and Renaissance styles, or the imposing Baroque presbytery decorated with sgraffitoes with vegetal motifs, houses the village's only restaurant. Just beside it, the little medieval conjurador, open on its sides, was a religious building where the priest came to pray for the abundance of crops. From the heights of the village, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains.
