L'Hospitalet de l'Infant is actually made up of five municipalities, with two predominant urban centers: L'Hospitalet de l'Infant on the coast, and Vandellòs inland, totaling about 6,000 inhabitants. The beaches of L'Hospitalet are wide and, on the whole, rather well preserved from tourism, allowing one to enjoy the Mediterranean sea spray in peace (at the superb naturist beach of El Torn, for example) or to practice all kinds of sports and aquatic activities, thanks to the very good nautical station located near the marina. There are some good hotels and restaurants here, but the architectural heritage is rather limited and people come to L'Hospitalet mainly to enjoy the nature and its still quite virgin spaces. As a tourist attraction, it is worth noting that on summer nights from 10 pm onwards, visual animations (mapping) are projected onto the walls of the old town center. The inner part, with Vandellòs as the urban core nestled in the middle of a green hill, invites you to go for a walk or a bike ride, and has a very good olive oil interpretation center. Also, 15 minutes inland from Vandellòs is the charming little village of Pratdip, particularly interesting for its architectural ensemble, with the Hermitage of Santa Marina as its centerpiece (more information at www.pratdipturisme.com). Finally, let us point out, on the edge of the very beautiful naturist beach of El Torn, the presence of one of the best naturist campings of all Europe: el Templo del Sol (the temple of the sun)! The Tuna Days. These festivities are of great importance to the municipality of L'Hospitalet de l'Infant: in April and May, all the restaurants in the municipality participate in this event, preparing a special menu featuring tuna and the different ways it is cooked. It is a fun and festive event, where shows are also prepared for the little ones and where there are stands with typical products of the region. Whether you like tuna or not, a visit to Hospitalet de l'Infant in the spring is sure to be a highlight in the life of the town.
