El Perelló (2,884 inhabitants) is a small village in the Baix Ebre region. Between the sea and the mountains, it combines a preserved coastline decorated with reddish rocks, bordered by translucent water, where pines, olive trees and agaves grow, with the remains of a very ancient cultural heritage. If we will quickly make the tour, some sites in the surroundings are worth a look. The cave paintings of Cabrafeixet, listed as a World Heritage Site, bear witness to the prehistoric origins of El Perelló. Partly located on the route of the ancient Via Augusta, the town was an important village under Roman rule, as evidenced by the remains of that era. Known as the "mirador of the Delta", today it has a pleasant seafront promenade that leads to the two main beaches of the town: the Platja de Santa Llúcia, a large pebble beach surrounded by pine trees, and the Platja Morro de Gos, with waters dotted with flat rocks. The Pont de L'Àlia beach, made of gravel and stones, and Cala Buena, a gravel cove with a calm swell, will suit travelers looking for wild places. Finally, Cala Moros is a small sandy cove with crystal clear water. El Perelló also produces large quantities of honey, wine, almonds and olive oil, which are renowned throughout Catalonia.
