On the peninsula of Cap de Creus, this small port of more than 1,000 inhabitants enjoys an exceptional location, with its feet in the sea and its back to the Rodes mountains, with the white silhouette of Santa Maria de les Neus in sight as soon as you arrive. These landscapes have been and still are a source of inspiration for writers and painters. Until 1787, it was the seafaring district of Selva de Mar, a medieval village located 2 km inland when pirate attacks made it more dangerous to settle on the coast. Today, it is one of the ports of the Costa Brava that best preserves the maritime tradition.
