Known as the "Pearl of the Apennines", Sestola is an important tourist destination, especially in winter. Its ski resorts are among the most popular in the Apennines thanks to their proximity to Mount Cimone, the highest peak in the northern Apennines, at 2,165 meters. The Stazione Invernale del Cimone is the main ski resort of the Apennines with 50 km of ski slopes connected to each other (cimonesci.it). Sestola is also very popular in summer for its hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. You can taste the crescenti, bread disks, with mountain cold cuts and parmigiano on sale in the local dairy shops.
