A stopover in the open air surrounded by the Apennine woods. In the past, Rocca di Roffeno was home to the painter Giorgio Morandi who, from 1933 to 1938, came to spend every summer in a house in the hamlet of Monzone. It is understandable that the artist was seduced by the peace and quiet of this isolated site in the mountains! Rocca di Roffeno is a good starting point for exploring the surrounding area: you can go to the ancient Abbey of Santa Lucia di Roffeno, which offered hospitality to travellers crossing the Apennines, reach the lost hamlets with their old stone houses or reach Castel d'Aiano by a panoramic route.
