Located on the right bank of the River Anoia, Igualada is renowned for its leather and textile industries. The town center is home to a number of leather-related businesses. You can also visit the Museu de la Pell, which traces the importance of the leather industry in the town's history. Igualada is home to some fine Modernista buildings, notably the Asil del Sant Crist, designed by Joan Rubió i Bellver, a former disciple of Gaudí, and built around a cloister and a church with a Greek cross floor plan. Other attractions include the Museu del Traginer, with its interesting collection of horse-drawn carriages, and the Rail Home BCN, a museum dedicated to model trains.
