At the entrance to the Morvan Regional Park, very close to Clamecy, it is nevertheless its proximity to Vézelay that has marked the history of the village of Dornecy. The latter was given to the church in 838 which owned it for nine centuries, controlled first by nuns and then by monks settled in Saint-Père at the bottom of Vézelay. Dornecy has many curiosities, such as the linden tree of the "Champ de la ville" planted during the reign of Henri IV, the Château de Douée, summer residence of the abbots of Vézelay, also called the old castle, installed on the Amance, or the three wash houses from the end of the 19th century, including the one at the Porte de Bourgogne with its magnificent roof structure.
