This picturesque town, with its "secteur sauvegardé" town center, narrow streets and old houses, counts among its children Claude Tillier, author of Mon oncle Benjamin, Romain Rolland and Alain Colas. It was in the 16th century that Clamecy experienced an era of prosperity and revealed its true character, thanks to the invention of timber floating, which supplied Paris with firewood. Four thousand people made their living from this activity. The town's museum retraces these four centuries, highlighting local traditions. It's a town to explore, discover, enjoy and experience in every season!
