Located 4 km from Portimão, this charming village has a small marina along the shores of the Alvor ria, very popular for its seafood restaurants. In the center, you can stroll through the narrow streets on the hillside, lined with typical old fishermen's houses with white fronts. Alvor is above all a place with a traditional fishing vocation where the atmosphere remains well preserved despite the concentration of inevitable tourist stores. You will see fishermen conscientiously repairing their nets on the threshold of their huts, and, early in the morning, shellfish collectors. Portugal as we imagine it.
