Jean Lafitte, a buccaneer of his state, is honoured by a small town, located on the edge of the Barataria nature reserve. This French pirate had made the marshes of New Orleans its headquarters in order to monitor the mouth of Mississippi. They were called the "kingdom of Barataria". Today, Jean Lafitte, the city, is not a crazy interest, but there are companies offering walks in the bayou.
