Small town located at the entrance of the Blue Mountains, 95 km west of Sydney on the Great Western Highway and only 8 km east of Katoomba, Wentworth Falls is mainly worth visiting for its waterfalls and the spectacular panorama offered. Originally named Weatherboard when it was created in 1814, then Jamison's Valley by Governor Macquarie in 1815, it was named in 1879 after William Charles Wentworth, one of the famous explorers of the Blue Mountains. The Conservation Hut is a small cafe overlooking the cliff, 1km from Wentworth Falls, which offers spectacular views. It is the starting point for many hiking trails.
