Megalong Valley is a beautiful green valley located west of and below Katoomba. It is separated from Jamison Valley by Narrow Neck Plateau. Quite touristy, it is crossed by the Six Foot Track, which connects Katoomba to Jenolan Caves. However, the road that goes through it is a dead end and stops near the Cox River, about 25 km from Blackheath and the Great Western Highway.For an overnight stay or more, you can stay at one of the ranches or other accommodations available in the valley, or even camp, for example at Blackheath Glen Reserve, where the sites are free... but quickly occupied.
