This town is located on the Great Western Highway and at the bottom of Victoria Pass, below the western escarpment of the Blue Mountains, between Mount Victoria and Lithgow. It was an important administrative center before falling into decline as other towns on the railroad line expanded. Almost deserted today, it is mainly known for its preserved historical part, of which some buildings are visible on the edge of the highway. The whole is worth a visit. And for the aficionados of the cult series Hartley; Hearts in the Air, the high school was located in the underprivileged suburbs of Sydney and not here!
