The small community of Mount Tomah, on Hwy-40 between Lithgow and Windsor, is located about 100 kilometers from Sydney, about 1.5 hours by car. It is a very small village with only 76 inhabitants in 2016. However, it is home to one of the most beautiful visits of the Blue Mountains: its botanical garden, one of the three Botanic Gardens of the State (Sydney, Mount Tomah, Mount Annan). More than 5,000 species of cool-climate plants can be found on dozens of acres of land. The garden was opened to the public in 1987 and is well worth a visit. Guided tours and animations allow you to make the most of it.
