Part of the administrative district of Mistelbach, Wilfersdorf is known as the proud home of the Liechtenstein Palace. The palace has belonged to the Liechtenstein ruling family for centuries. In 1600, Gundakar of Liechtenstein had his palace built here from a Gothic building. Ravaged by the French in 1809, transformed into a hospital by the Prussians in 1866, it underwent a major restoration campaign in the early 2000s. A magnificent Baroque edifice, it hosts seminars, exhibitions and cultural events, and houses a museum dedicated to the Liechtenstein family and the museum of the town of Wilfersdorf.
