With 11,000 inhabitants, Mistelbach-an-der-Zaya (its official name) is well worth a visit for its superb museum complex. Nearby, in the municipality of Asparn an der Zaya, you should visit one of the region's tourist highlights: Asparn Castle and its MAMUZ Schloss Asparn. For more than half a century, this huge and beautiful castle has been home to the Regional Museum of Prehistory and, since 2014, the Museum of Antiquity and Medieval Archaeology, in conjunction with the Mistelbach Museum. The town enjoys a privileged geographical location, equidistant from Brno in the Czech Republic, Bratislava in Slovakia, and Vienna.
