Lined by the Rhône à Sète canal, halfway between Saint-Gilles and Vauvert, Franquevaux extends its charming dwellings in the middle of the ponds and reeds of the Petite Camargue. On the slopes of the Costières, Franquevaux was born from the ruins of the old Cistercian abbey founded in 1143. It is off the beaten track that you will most appreciate discovering this little corner of the Camargue: on the paths through the meadows where the bulls graze quietly, displaying their black robes and agile bodies, in the marshes where pink flamingos romp about during the mating season, or on horseback in the middle of the vineyards. A sunny stopover!
