Straddling the tourist regions of Oeste, Ribatejo and Templarios, this 615-metre-high natural park covers an area of 40,000 hectares of limestone, which is made up of rocky and steep massifs. Some fifteen footpaths criss-cross the area marked by the presence of caves, dinosaur footprints, Fonte da Bica salt mines (a unique salt mine) and white stone quarries. 42 km northwest of Santarém, the main entrance to the park is via Rio Maior, but also via Porto de Mós or Mira de Aire.
