Situated in the north of the Ogliastra, near the municipalities of Baunei, Dorgali and Orgosolo, Urzulei is crossed by many rivers, among which the Flumineddu and the Coda di Luna, whose mouth is located on the famous beach of Cala Luna. The small village has many churches to visit but it is also very famous for its beautiful murals which represent scenes from Sardinia's past and which are actually reproductions of period photographs. The Supramonte d'Urzulei is appreciated for the spring Sa Rutta 'e s'Edera, and the impressive Gorropu Gorge that shapes the biggest canyon in Europe.
