Arbatax is Tortolì's seaward extension. It's also Tortolì's commercial port and a quiet little town with many pretty coves. Combined with the blue of the sea and sky and the pronounced green of the wooded hills, the landscape of this small coastal town is a veritable festival of colors. Originally only a fishing port, the town has expanded over the years to become a major trading port, while preserving a small marina for pleasure boats and a charming little center. Arbatax remains famous for its rocce rosse, red porphyry organs that stand out against the cobalt-blue sea.
