Cardedu is the most recent village of the Ogliastra. Slightly set back from the coast, it developed in the middle of the 20th century, when the old village of Gairo was swept away in a rapid and violent flood. However, the occupation of the area is very old. The territory of the municipality shelters some domus of janas and numerous remains of nuraghe, and even a temple-well. But tourists come especially for the long beaches along the coast and the emerald sea: Lispedda, Marina di Cardedu, Museddu or Sa Perda Pera. The reasonable hotel development allows you not to feel suffocated, especially at the beach.
