Set in the foothills of the Gennargentu massif, Lanusei dominates the Ogliastre valley, offering splendid panoramic views of the turquoise sea. Archaeological traces testify to a very ancient human presence, highlighted in the Selene Park with its nuraghe and two giant tombs. The Cathedral of Santa Maria Maddalena dates back to the 16th century, while Mario Delitala's sumptuous frescoes date from the 20th century. Lanusei experienced its golden age in the 19th century, when it became the capital of the Ogliastra region. Today, the village is a peaceful and ideal place for nature lovers. Not forgetting its famous cherry festival in June.
