Lourdata, also known as Lourdas, is a village south of Argostoli, on the coast. It is reached by a long, winding road. The long beach is half pebble, half sand. Very popular in summer, the village is well stocked with tavernas. The village stretches out on a steep cliff, dominating the majestic Mount Ainos like an amphitheatre. You won't regret pushing all the way up to this whitish peak. Its small, inexpensive hotels nestled in the green flower gardens and olive groves of Lourdata and the surrounding towns offer a breathtaking view of the azure sea and the neighboring island of Zakynthos.
