30 kilometres west of Chora, untouched by the earthquake, this pretty village is divided between Ano Volimes and Kato Volimes, which have two churches from the 12th and 13th centuries. From here you can explore the still relatively unspoilt west coast. The monastery of Aghios Giorgios (Saint George of the Precipices), founded in the 16th century, is 3 kilometres away and offers a breathtaking panoramic view. But above all you will go by excursion boat to the most famous "postcard" of Greece: Navagio, the Bay of the Shipwreck, with a ship grounded on a tiny white sand beach surrounded by cliffs and crystal clear water.
