NAVAGIO

One of Greece's most beautiful and best-known beaches. Navagio, or Shipwreck Bay, is named after a ship, the Panagiotis, which ran aground on the beach in 1980 and has since become a symbol of the island. For a long time, many tourists also visited the famous wreck by boat. However, it was closed due to erosion of the surrounding cliffs and the risk of landslides. You can, however, see the beach from a promontory on the road between Volimes and Anafonitria.
