In the Xhosa language, Guguletu means "our pride. About 15 kilometers east of the city, the township stretches on both sides of Steve Biko Drive, over kilometers of mud houses not far from the airport. More commonly known as "Gugs", it is one of the largest townships in Cape Town, with a majority of black Bantu populations. It was created in 1958, with the primary goal of expanding its neighbor, Nyanga. Through its dusty alleys, tourism is developing thanks to the numerous B&Bs and eco-solidarity activities that offer the possibility to discover the place and especially its inhabitants through a solidarity prism.
