This 3,200 ha nature reserve is located on the western shore of False Bay. It is a real paradise for birds, where you can also find numerous zebras, impalas, antelopes (guibs, cobs, sunis), warthogs, nyalas and duikers. It is strictly forbidden to swim in the lake because of the crocodiles. For a small entrance fee, one can walk freely and use the marked trails of Dugandlovu and Mpophomeni. This is a great opportunity to get close to the animals without the risk of being eaten by a lion. The park is partially covered by sand forest, a very rare type of vegetation and therefore protected.
