Seal Island, not to be confused with Duikker Island, is 30 km off Cape Town. This is where National Geographic and the BBC filmed their legendary Great White Shark documentaries. Right in the middle of the bay, it's populated by thousands of birds and 75,000 playful seals, who make a spectacle of themselves by bawling and gliding through the water. In the morning, squadrons of white sharks make a beeline for their larder and munch on a seal or two. Predators leap to catch seals in flight. Great White Shark Breaching" is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, from April to September.
