Tulbagh boasts some thirty historic monuments beyond what the pioneers called the Limietberg. Beyond the frontier. From the beginning of the 18th century, a few courageous settlers came to this end of the world. But Tulbagh is above all the country of a great Huguenot family of Nîmes origin, the Théronds, descendants of Jacques Thérond, who disembarked from Oosterland on 25 April 1688. We recommend the beautiful route Gouda-Tulbagh-Wolseley-Ceres-Prince Alfred Hamlet via Mitchell's Pass. Head south on the R303 from the Elandskloofberge to Wellington, one of the steepest roads in the country.
