Winden am See houses an important prehistoric site: Naturelle natural Cave, the "Bear Cave" (Bärenhöhle), the larger Burgenland cave. There were bones of wolves, hyenas and bears of the ice period. One of the best preserved of these bear skeletons is now exposed to the Tour Tower Museum. The village also had the oldest press in the region, visible at the regional museum of Eisenstadt. The mill Bertoni presents the works of the sculptor Wander Bertoni.
