Kaarma is a small town in the middle of the island, around ten kilometers north of Kuressaare, with a population of 71 in 2021. Lost inland, it's a great opportunity to visit the island's natural beauty and enjoy Saaremaa's hidden, lesser-known corners. There are many small nature reserves, such as Kaarma hoiuala (created in 2006 to protect wooded meadows, wooded pastures and wild apple trees...) and Sepa hoiuala (created in 2006 to protect junipers, tides and old natural forests). Don't miss the Saints-Pierre-et-Paul church.
