This tiny, almost uninhabited village is not far from the coast, in the middle of nowhere. The pretty white church with its reddish roof stands in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and green spaces. Dedicated to Saint Laurent, it is the oldest church on the island of Hiiumaa. This Gothic-style church has a rooster above the steeple indicating the direction of the wind. Nearby, there are many walks to observe the various geological formations in the area, and museums such as the Soera Farm Musuem in the commune of Palade, an open-air museum built around this farm dating back at least two hundred years.
