Ariccia marks the beginning of the Via Appia Nuova that leads to Rome. Its square, designed by Bernini in the 17th century, is both charming and surprising. It is lined with several buildings, including a church dedicated to the Assumption and a palace that belonged to the Chigi family. Ariccia is famous for its restaurants called fraschette. The atmosphere is unique and it would be hard to imagine a more convivial atmosphere! In addition to the typical Lazio pasta with sauces such asamatriciana or carbonara, you can try porchetta . This spicy pork roast is one of the specialties of Ariccia. To get there: Cotral bus from Anagnina station (line A) or car in the direction of Albano Laziale.
