You have to go through it, since Zvartnots is the airport of Yerevan, the main gateway to the country. But you have to go back there, and not just to catch the plane home. Indeed, this locality, whose ever-expanding airport has changed its appearance, is home to the remains of a rotunda-shaped church which was one of the most original in Armenia. The earthquake of 930 will have overcome the audacity of its lines, but its ruins, against the backdrop of Ararat, are not lacking in grandeur and are worth visiting, as is the adjoining museum.
