After leaving Amberd and its pastures studded with poppies, vast grassy expanses reminiscent of Mongolia or Tibet where the Yezidis set up their summer quarters with their large herds of sheep or cows, the road climbs ever higher through the snow-covered mountains to reach the small lake Kari Litch, the end of the journey and the end of the highest road in the country, at an altitude of 3,200 metres. On one side of the lake is a weather and scientific station dating back to the Soviet era, on the other side is one of the 4 peaks of the Arakadz. Despite the altitude, but because of the accessibility, a very popular picnic spot of the Erevantsi. For those who love hiking, there is one stage before the ascent to the summit.
