The small town of Artik is located less than 25 km south of Gyumri, at the end of a road that, after passing along the Yerevan-Armavir-Gyumri railway line and the Akhurian River Gorge, where the less spectacular western slope of the Arakadz River drowns, branches off to the left to follow another railway line
