Egnazia is a site of Roman ruins (the largest in Puglia) located on the coast. Located on the coast road that leads from Monopoli to Savelletri, the site was uncovered during the excavations undertaken in 1912. Nearby, the fishing and sailing port of Savelletri is a pleasant stop for a fresh fish meal in front of the sea. In the vicinity, there are high quality hotels and one of the most prestigious golf courses in Italy, San Domenico Golf, which overlooks the Adriatic Sea, with a 6,300-meter course stretching between centuries-old olive trees and the sea (sandomenicogolf.com).
