Putignano is famous for its carnival, a tradition that dates back to the 14th century and brings in people from all over the country. The Putignano carnival celebrated its 625th edition in 2019! This town of 27,000 inhabitants also offers a historic town full of character, with a charming little central square, piazza del Plebiscito, bordered by the 12th century church of San Pietro, erected in the Romanesque style but with a Baroque interior. As you stroll through the small center, you will discover several historical palaces and churches. If Putignano is worth a stop, it is also for a restaurant nestled in the heart of the city and for a B&B immersed in the countryside.
