Fasano is a discovery of the historical wealth, the trulli and the surrounding nature of the province. The most interesting part of the city is the historical center of the city, crossed by alleys, such as Via del Balì, lined with bright white houses, with facades decorated with beautiful portals and balconies in wrought iron. The street ends in front of the Chiesa Matrice dedicated to St. John the Baptist, patron saint of the city, built between 1580 and 1599. Its façade of blonde stone is decorated with a large rose window richly carved, a real stone lace. The interior is as interesting for its atmosphere as for its few works of art.
