Near the Albanian border, Ulcinj (Ulqin) is a seaside resort with a colorful charm. An attractive natural site, the white minarets compete for urban space with medieval enclosures and markets typical of the Ottoman Balkans. The city is Montenegrin since 1881 and is of Muslim faith. It knows a constant animation, punctuated by the call to the prayer of the mosques. The old town has a semblance of Ohrid in its way. Another special feature is its 12 km long beach called Velika Plaža (Big Beach). The nature reserve of Ada Bojana is famous for its naturist vacation center.
