The Morača is a river with little width and where it is almost impossible to navigate. It originates in the north of the country near the Rzača mountain and flows for 113 km to the Skadar lake. Near its source, the river runs along a canyon, a natural corridor with a surprising landscape in the form of a torrent north of Podgorica. Its beautiful color is reminiscent of the Soča River in northern Slovenia. This area was also the site of an important battle, when Montenegrins and Serbs repelled the Ottoman armies during the Russo-Turkish war of 1877.
