One of the most beautiful panoramas in Ticino. It's reached by a small cogwheel train that leaves from the lakeside village of Capolago and, in 40 minutes, reaches the Vett site (1,704 m), i.e. the summit of Monte Generoso. From here, you can admire the lake region (Lugano, Como, Varese and Lake Maggiore), from Lugano to Capolago, via Morcote and the Alpine chain from Gran Paradiso to the Gotthard massif, including Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and the Jungfrau. Resting on the rocky ridge, the new Fiore di pietra architectural work by Mario Botta has become Monte Generoso's new landmark.
