The village of Broc (pronounced Brô) is situated on the southern shore of Lake Gruyère, a huge artificial lake almost 13 km long. It is mainly known for the Maison Cailler (and Nestlé group) chocolate factory, which has been located in the village since 1898. Its two main points of interest are the visit to the chocolate factory and the Notre-Dame-des-Marches chapel (18th century), at the southern exit of the village. This small chapel became known outside the borders of the parish following two miraculous cures in the 1880s. Two pilgrimages take place there each year, in May and September.
