Argentinian restaurant, created in 1979, which only offers meat (from Argentina), which is obviously relatively expensive in Switzerland. Latin America is on your plate with the smell of wood-fired grilling right from the open kitchen. The waiters bring you the meat on large skewers and quantity rhymes with quality. Located on the first floor of the Mix Shop, opposite the upper entrance of Fnac, the Petit Thaï is an excellent address for eating at a low price: Ginger chicken chicken, matsaman curry beef, cashew shrimp, cashew shrimp and many more. The place has opened a second floor that doubles as a sushi bar and karaoke bar (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). The owner, who worked with Japanese for ten years, has decided to offer traditional sushi at affordable prices. Also worth trying: Asian beers such as Tsingtao. A well-known address among regulars.

Located on the grounds of the Vidy campsite, this restaurant offers a friendly, relaxed setting. With its large lakeside terrace surrounded by trees, Les Berges de Vidy is the ideal place to stop for a meal or just an ice cream. Under Orangina umbrellas, you can enjoy delicious perch fillets or simpler fare such as cheese crusts and pizzas. The Breton pancake bar also serves excellent buckwheat pancakes. Flip-flops and pétanque atmosphere guaranteed all day long!

Another dimension, this time from the lake. It's an exploration not to be missed, a cruise aboard one of the Belle Époque boats on the lake. A recent establishment of Paris Zurich Catering, which also holds the restaurant (see article). This establishment specialises in domicile preparation. Subject to strict standards of quality and hygiene, they will save any skepticism! The principle is «take away» but it is also possible to eat on-site, in a small, tastefully decorated lounge. Even at weekends, brunch is a must. The atmosphere is vibrant and the food delicious. The decor is meticulous. Please note that there are three courses for Sunday brunch. You'll be asked to leave your table at a certain time, depending on your reservation. No time to dawdle, then, as the customer isn't exactly king.

Rather banal from the outside, the Byblos, a Spanish restaurant bar, radiates a warm atmosphere once the door has gone, and the kitchen is very good. Hot sandwiches, but also salads, tapas, pasta and meat. Terrace on the sidewalk in summer.

This natural and casual fast-food restaurant, simply decorated with light wood, serves authentic 100% Swiss burgers. The list is long: beef, chicken, vegetarian, children's version, Camembert, Indian, Mexican or Japanese flavour... all accompanied by good fries. The only downside is that you still have to be patient to find a place at rush hour. But that's the price of success! In any case, the brand also has other premises, at 17 rue Cheneau-De-Bourg and even on the EPFL campus, at the arcades.

Located just below the cathedral, L'Évêché is an institution in Lausanne where you can enjoy a gourmet and traditional cuisine in the heart of the old city. The list of fondues is long: four cheeses, with mushrooms, shallots, curry or even chilli. Brasserie dishes and the weekly menu complete the picture. In summer, the small shady garden at the back is particularly nice and bucolic, with a garland of light bulbs and small wrought iron tables. With your feet almost in the water! Facing the lake, the restaurant is well worth the detour for its large terrace opening onto a grandiose panorama. The concrete building and interior design are a little lacking in charm, but you'll be forgiven for feeling right at home. The menu includes salads, grills, pizzas and burgers. The setting is very pleasant, go there especially to spend a 100% Latina evening and dance the salsa afterwards in the adjoining Movida bar!

Wood panelling, mirrors and photos of singing stars straight out of the 1950s provide a warm setting for savouring refined cuisine that's both traditional and inventive, with creative and meticulous presentation. The menu is presented on a slate and varies according to season and market produce, and the service is excellent. Everything is delicious, perhaps noisy at times, but the brasserie atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. A few tables are set up outside on sunny days. A recommended address, remember to make a reservation.

Located in the heart of the old town, this Italian restaurant has a beautiful setting. The interior, with exposed beams, is elegant. The staff come to your table presenting the suggestions of the day. Well cooked fish, fresh ravioli… Here, we are not limited to pizzas and pasta, and serves more evolved, subtle and delicious Italian cuisine, but whose price seems somewhat overvalued. That said, the atmosphere is warm and the choice of wines very wide.

The Brasserie de la Riviera, formerly the Café de la Gare at the end of the 19th^century , is the only restaurant in Ouchy to have retained its authenticity. Since March 2012, the place has been refurbished, but regulars have insisted on keeping the furniture that gives it that old-fashioned bistro spirit! Traditional brasserie cuisine is served, but unfortunately it doesn't always live up to the surroundings. The welcome is also rather cold, perhaps because the clientele is mainly tourists. Charming tea room restaurant with garden tables and chairs, in the heart of the Mon-Repos park. Breakfast, salads and, in the afternoon, pies and excellent home-made ice creams are served. No reservation is possible, think about going there early especially if you want to have brunch on Sunday! In this wooded and poetic setting, the Folie Voltaire co-organizes the Digitales, a festival of electronic music, or open-air film screenings. The restaurant then closes later. A very original favourite to discover.

A delicious Vietnamese restaurant and convenient prices, which is not the case at most Asian tables in Switzerland. The regulars recommend Bo Bun. After a fire, the decoration was completely redone, in a rather cosy style with red walls. Nice terrace in summer. The staff is adorable.

Ah, Thailand and its flavors that are an invitation to travel, a departure to the unique aromas of Siam! They're exactly the same ones that make you feel like you're back in Bangkok, sitting in a gargote, or elsewhere in the country. Simply delicious: tom kha gai, chicken in coconut milk, curry, pad thai or papaya salad. The restaurant is a well-deserved success. Small, unpretentious storefront, close to the lake. A few days after its opening in 2009, the establishment was already a great success. It must be said that the reputation of its owners, who also own the Café de Grancy, is well established. But this place is no less friendly, especially in summer when the terrace gives a village festival atmosphere to this district under the station. The menu includes both meat dishes from the neighbouring butcher's shop as well as fish delivered daily and vegetarian dishes, with specialities that are dear to the owner of Macedonian origin. On the other hand, the bistro to have good beers.
